Privacy Policy

We only collect what the monitor needs to run.

Checkout Sentinel watches checkout paths for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what we store, why we store it, and how to ask for deletion.

Data We Collect

When you install or use Checkout Sentinel, we may store:

  • Your Shopify shop domain and install details.
  • The Shopify access token granted during app installation.
  • Monitor names, product URLs, selected Shopify product IDs, cadence, and enabled status.
  • Optional notification recipients and sender settings.
  • Optional storefront password, when you add one for a password-protected test store.
  • Check history, failure status, failed step, console messages, and screenshots captured during failed checks.
  • Basic technical logs needed to operate and debug the app.

How We Use Data

We use this data to:

  • Run browser-based checkout checks.
  • Follow the current Shopify product handle when you select a Shopify product.
  • Send alert, reminder, and recovery emails.
  • Show incident evidence inside the app.
  • Improve reliability, reduce false positives, and support users.

We do not sell merchant data.

Shopify Access

Checkout Sentinel currently asks for product read access so it can list products and keep monitors attached to the right product if the handle changes. The app does not need order, customer, payment, or fulfillment access for its core monitoring workflow.

Passwords And Evidence

If you enter a storefront password, it is saved privately in Checkout Sentinel app storage and used only so the browser probe can open password-protected storefronts. Failure screenshots and console messages may include visible storefront content, so treat them like operational evidence.

Processors

Checkout Sentinel runs on private hosting and uses Shopify APIs for app installation/product data. Email delivery may be sent through Resend or another configured SMTP provider.

Retention And Deletion

App data is kept while your Shopify install is active. You can uninstall the app from Shopify at any time. To request a manual export or deletion, email mail@erkanerdogan.dk with your shop domain.

Cookies

The app uses cookies for Shopify OAuth state and app session handling. These cookies are used to keep the embedded app working and are not used for advertising.
